Nyra Banerjee is all set to sizzle on big screen with her upcoming movie One Night Stand. The movie, produced by Pradeep Sharma and directed by Jasmine D'Souza, also stars Sunny Leone and Tanuj Virwani and is scheduled to release on April 22. In a conversation with Metrolife, the Mumbai-based Bengal beauty reveals more about her role, movie and her take on one night stands.

Tell us about your role in the movie.

I’m playing one of the three leads in the film. My role is about an emotional journey of a woman and her metamorphosis in response to incidents in her life.

How did the movie happen to you?

I had auditioned for and signed a couple of films. One night stand materialised first.

How was Sunny as a co star?

She was encouraging and cooperative. It was wonderful working with such a warm person.

What are your views on one night stands?

It’s when your mind weakens. A person who is absolutely aware of his or her sexuality would be bold enough to experiment. For me it’s the mental attraction that matters the most.

How open are you about it?

I’m wary of its repercussions!

Tell us about your early life.

I’m born and brought up in Mumbai. I’ve always participated actively in cultural programmes in school and college. Being a Bengali, learning music, dance and painting was a part of living. I have completed my law graduation and specialised in the “intellectual property rights”. My father is a retired defence officer and my mother is an author.

How did you get into acting?

I may sound really childish here. I’ve been a die hard ‘fan’ of Salman Khan since childhood and wanted to see him in person. I think the universe has just been kind to me to and given me an opportunity to let me enter this business. I’ve been lucky enough to get selected in auditions. And you never really know my dream of working with ‘The Salman Khan’ may just come true (laughs).

Where do you see yourself in next five years?

A super star! A singing star! A person who has contributed concretely to the society.

How has the journey from auditioning to shooting been?

The journey from auditioning to signing workshops and shooting was a glorious one. And now comes the exciting anticipation of public reactions and industry feedback.

What are your next projects?

They are in the process of materialising. You will know about it soon.
