JOIN USThe Safai Karmachari Kaval Samiti has demanded that the contractors responsible for the death of four people, including two labourers who were involved in cleaning a manhole, in Doddaballapur recently, should be arrested immediately.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, K B Obalesh, state convenor of the Samiti, said, “It has been 18 days since the accident took place. But till date, no action has been taken against the suspects. Action needs to be taken against the Doddaballapur police inspector for delaying the case, purposely.”
He said that as per Section 13(1) of the Safai Karmachari Rehabilitation Act, the families of the deceased persons should get education fund, site/house, assistance for employment, along with an incentive of Rs 25 lakh.
Obalesh said that the families of Madhu and Muniraju who sacrificed their lives to save two labourers should also be awarded compensation.
