Three youths assaulted; tension in Ullal

Tension prevailed in Ullal after miscreants assaulted and injured three youths late on Monday night and another on Tuesday evening.

As a precautionary measure, the police have clamped IPC Section 144 to prevent untoward incidents.

Three youths, who were returning to their houses after completing catering work, were allegedly assaulted by bike-borne miscreants using lethal weapons at Thokkottu Olapete. In the melee, a man has suffered serious injuries and two others suffered minor injuries.  On Tuesday evening, another youth was allegedly attacked by two-bike borne miscreants at Kallapu Patla near Thokkottu.

Safwan (20) of Pilar, Safwan (22) of Kallapu Patla, who are seriously injured, have been shifted to hospital in Mangaluru while Nizam (19) and Salim (20) have been admitted to a hospital at Thokkottu.

Safwan, Nizam and Salim were coming to park their catering vehicle on T C Road at Thokkottu when the miscreants attacked them. The bike-borne miscreants, who were hiding near Overbridge at Olapete, wielded talwar at the group.
 
In another incident on Tuesday evening, Safwan of Kallapu Patla was returning home from Mangaluru when five miscreants on two-wheeler wielded lethal weapons on him before fleeing the spot.

The CCTV camera footage has captured the footage of miscreants wielding talwar at three youths on Monday night.

As a precautionary measure, KSRP, CISF and additional police personnel have been deployed at Ullal Kodi, Kotepura, Mogaveerapattana and other areas. The police carried out a route march in the region to instil confidence in the people.
