Status quo on BTC extended by another week

Last Updated 23 February 2010, 10:42 IST

Hearing a petition by the management and staff associations of  BTC challenging the State Government order to shift, the division bench headed by Justice V Gopalagowda extended the status quo for a week and adjourned the matter.

Earlier the State had submitted that the club is not entitled for the land as they are just lease holders. Alleging that the petitioners are keen on continuing here, it had said the petitioners wanted tax holidays and no government interference. It had further submitted that by shifting the turf club, several families will be saved.

The petitioners had said that they are ready to move out but they need time of about three years. The Court had ordered a status quo until February 10. However, it has now been extended by another week.
