The next Lok Sabha elections may well be years away but the claimants for the prime minister's post in the opposition's rank have been increasing by the day.
After NCP chief Sharad Pawar's assertion that Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar was the ‘most suitable’ person for the top post, it was the turn of the Samajwadi Party (SP) to float the name of its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for the same.
SP national general secretary and senior UP minister Shivpal Singh Yadav here said on Saturday that Mulayam was the ''most popular'' leader in the country today and hence was the right claimant for the post.
