Rains bring back smiles on people's face

Temperature has dipped a little with rains lashing the district on Friday evening. The city too, received its first major rain this pre-monsoon season.

Yelwal received 16.5 millimeters (mm) of rain on Friday evening. The rains, which started at around 4.30 pm, continued till 6 pm. Though normal life was affected in several parts of the city, people were happy as the heat declined.

Bannur hobli in T Narasipur taluk received 14 mm of rainfall. Arasante in HD Kote taluk, Belvadi of Mysuru taluk, Nagunahalli, and Hunsur also received decent rainfall. Parts of KR Nagar taluk received 5 mm of rainfall, while it drizzled in Nanjangud taluk.

Temperature down

According to the Organic Farming Research Station, Naganahalli, the district will receive light to moderate rainfall between May 7 and 10. The district has recorded a maximum temperature of 36 and a minimum of 20.6 degree Celsius on Friday. The station has predicted that the temperature will be between 34 and 21 degree celsius on Saturday.

The average temperature is expected to be between 34 and 35 degree Celsius during the day and 20 degree to 21 degree Celsius during the night till Tuesday.

The relative humidity in the morning hours is expected to be 73-83% and afternoon relative humidity is expected to be in the range 44 to 69%. Wind speed is expected to be 2-4 km per hour.
