State records high pass percentage in ICSE, ISC exams

Students from Karnataka cleared the ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12) exams with flying colours with one student securing the second position in country in the ICSE. The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination announced the results on Friday.

 The pass percentage for the class 10 exam was 99.77 in the state and for class 12 exam it was 99.51. A total of 14,130 appeared for the ICSE while 1,418 took the ISC.

In both the exams, girls did considerably better than boys. For example, in the class 10 exam, the pass percentage of boys was 99.64 while for girls it was 99.90. In class 12, girls secured a pass percentage of 99.72 while it was 99.29 for boys. As many as 6,965 girls gave the class 10 exams while 709 gave the class 12 exams.  There are a total of 270 ICSE and 29 ISC schools in the state.

Sudarshan R from Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Bengaluru stood second in the country in the class 10 exam. In ISC, Michelle Nazareth, a science student from Bethany High School and Priya Naveen Kini from Vidya Niketan School were the joint state toppers. The board said that it was yet to compile details on the top 10 national toppers in class12.
