For the cause of a girl child

The run has been organised for Indian women on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Ulsoor Lake. It will kickstart from Home Guards Ground and Jija Harisingh will be the Chief Guest for the event.

People can opt to run for five or ten kilometres for this purpose. Shukla Bose, who heads Parikrama Foundation, was present along with prominent athlete Ashwini Nachappa and veteran marathon runner Chandra Gopalan at the press conference. Said Ashwini Nachappa, “Events like these should be organised for the welfare of women in our country.

By taking part in this run, one can work towards staying healthy and can also help the girl children at Parikrama. Fitness is vital for every individual so understand the goodness of physical activity.”The prime focus of the run is to encourage women and men of all ages to run on the occasion of International Women’s Day and to empower Indian women.

Everyone in the city is invited to have a good time running or even walking at the event, as it is not a competition, but merely an event to have fun whilst celebrating womanhood and bringing in change for the future of the girl child.Chandra Gopalan says, “Contours International invites Bangalore to wake up and experience the goodness of running, as you celebrate Women’s Day. Let us join hands to empower Indian women by educating the girl child.All proceeds collected from the registration process of the run will go towards Parikrama Foundation to help educate girls.
