Engineering results: VVCE tops with 10-rank haul

Gayatri Prabhu of GSSS bags nine medals; MIT content with three

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru has bagged 10 ranks in Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) exams held during the academic year 2014-15.

In undergraduate category, Chaitra R (84.12%) secured the first rank, Karthika B (82.03%) second, Deekshitha S J (80.99%) third and Nikitha Dechakka (76.49%) fifth rank in Environmental Engineering. Meghana M S (82.43%) secured fourth Rank in Information Science.

In postgraduation, Alfred Vivek D Souza (84.50%) secured second rank and Pallavi J (82.38%) third rank in Signal Processing discipline. Prabodh Sai Dutt R (80.29%) got first rank, Vismay K G (79.54%) second and Praneeth H R (78.42%) third rank in Computational Analysis in Mechanical Science.

Haul of medals
M Gayatri Prabhu of GSSS has secured first rank, scoring 90.72% in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

She has been awarded nine gold medals, ‘Shri Sangappa L Desai of Sonna’, ‘Late Sri Basavaraj Muddebihal’, ‘Murty’s Medal of Excellence’, ‘H H Jagadguru Late Dr Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamigalu of Suttur Mutt’, ‘Squadron Leader S S Chaitanya Memorial’, ‘R N Shetty’, ‘Jain University’, ‘Dr S Rame Gowda Memorial’ and ‘VTU Gold Medal’ in BE Electrical and Electronics.

She has also secured the highest marks among the rank holders in any branch of BE and also highest marks among the students of the engineering colleges affiliated to the VTU.

Shanmugapriya S has secured second rank (85.67%) in MTech (Digital Communication and Networking), according to a press release.

Three ranks
Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT), Mysuru has secured three ranks. Pavan Raj R (88.46%) secured second rank, followed by Ganavi S (86.84%) sixth rank in Civil Engineering; Arun R (80.58%) third rank in MTech Thermal Power Engineering, according to Principal G Naresh Kumar.
