Didn't seek personal favour from CM: Bava

Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava B A on Tuesday said neither his brother - JD(S) candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections B M Farook nor himself - had sought any personal favour from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking to reporters in the city. Reports in a section of the media that he had sought clearance from the government for his brother’s wind-energy project were not true, the legislator said.

The chief minister had, on Monday, warned the MLA that the party would not give him ticket to contest the next elections, if his brother does not withdraw from the fray. When Bava tried to wash his hands off his brother’s decision, the chief minister had reportedly asked him why he had sought clearance for his brother’s wind-energy project. Bava, however, denied that the chief minister warned him.

“I have nothing to do with the decision of my brother. I am not a partner in any of my brother’s businesses. I am a loyal Congress worker and I will vote for the Congress candidates in both the Rajya Sabha and the Legislative Council polls,” he stated.
