<p>IWF in its executive committee meeting in Udaipur decided to bring Monika in the core group in June.<br /><br />IWF Secretary Sahdev Yadav said even if Monika loses her ongoing case before the NADA appeals committee, she will be handed a ban of two years and that will expire in June since her dope offence penalty will be counted from June 2008.<br /><br />“By June this year, she would have served two years’ ban — the maximum ban period even if she loses her case before NADA appeals committee to overturn her dope flunk case,” Yadav said.<br /><br />“Monika is a sure shot for a medal (in 69 kg) in the Commonwealth Games. So the executive committee has decided to include her in the elite group in June. But before she is included she will have to undergo dope test and only after clearing it she will be in the camp,” he added.<br /><br />Yadav though ruled out any prospect of multiple international medallist Kunjarani Devi from making a comeback.<br /><br />“Kunjarani’s time has gone, she is no longer a medal prospect and she has no chance of being included in the elite list,” said the IWF secretary. <br /><br />“I can’t tell the names of the three who have been included before their dope results are out. With Monika who would be included in June the total number of lifters would be 35 and this would be the final and nobody would be included after that,” he said.<br /><br />Out of 35, the final 15 (seven women and eight men for the CWG) will be picked in a selection trial prior to the October 3-14 mega event.<br /><br /><br />Seventy lifters skip Nationals<br /><br />Seventy lifters skipped the Senior National championship in Udaipur fearing they might fail the dope tests, the Indian Weightlifting Federation said on Friday. <br /><br />A committee will beconstituted to look into the identity of the lifters who skipped the tests and the tournament<br /></p>
