CBI questions Himachal CM's son

Last Updated 21 June 2016, 19:45 IST

The CBI on Tuesday questioned Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's son Vikramaditya in connection with a case of disproportionate assets.

His questioning came a day after the agency informed the Delhi High Court that Singh's two children Vikramaditya and Aprajita Kumari have been called as witnesses for questioning in the case and there was "no plan" to detain them.

Vikramaditya's questioning came after the chief minister had put the onus of explaining the assets of his wife and children on them. Singh was questioned for two days earlier this month in connection with allegations of acquiring wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During preliminary inquiry, the son had told the CBI that some of his assets were from the money provided by his father.

CBI officials said they have questioned Vikramaditya on the difference in the claims made by Virbhadra and him.

The CBI FIR said that Singh had accumulated assets worth Rs 6.03 crore in his name.
