JOIN USA 27-year-old pregnant woman is suspected to have committed suicide after killing her one-year-old daughter at her parents’ home in Chokkasandra, Peenya, north Bengaluru, on Tuesday evening.
The woman, Shwetha, hanged her daughter Sowmya with a saree from the ceiling fan before committing suicide in a similar manner. Shwetha was six months pregnant and had come to stay with her parents for childbirth.
Shwetha’s husband, Yogesh, is a farmer from Turuvekere, Tumakuru. He had called her up around 6 pm but she didn’t talk and was just crying and then hung up. Yogesh said he called her again but her phone was switched off. He got anxious and called her parents who both were at work.
They rushed home and found the main door open. They ran inside and were stunned to find Shwetha and the child hanging dead. Police suspect that the incident occurred between 6 pm and 7 pm. Shwetha’s parents told the police that she was happy in her life and didn’t have any problems.
