RBI's central board meets in Bengaluru after 7 years

 The Reserve Bank of India central board met in Bengaluru under the chairmanship of governor Raghuram Rajan. The RBI central board met in the city after a span of seven years.

In the meeting, the central Board discussed, among other issues, macroeconomic developments and two other specific areas of operations of RBI, namely, the Reserve Bank’s budget and constitution of monetary policy committee.

The board also reviewed the activities of the board for payment and settlement system for the year ended March 2016 and discussed the draft annual report for 2015-16, the RBI said.
Other attendees included deputy governors Urjit R Patel, R Gandhi, SS Mundra and NS Vishwanathan.

Other directors of the central board present at the meeting were Nachiket M Mor, Damodar Acharya, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Bharat N Doshi and Sudhir Mankad. It was also attended by government nominee director on the central board, Shaktikanta Das, secretary, department of economic affairs, ministry of finance, it added.
