Anushka Sharma, who is playing a wrestler in Sultan, is wearing a traditional bridal ensemble for a wedding song Sachi Muchi in the film where she is mostly seen as a rugged and tough girl — Aarfa.

The designing and styling of this look is done by Diva’ni, who had also designed for a wedding sequence in Fan. This sequence in the film incorporates handcrafted traditional chikankaari ensemble which is embellished with zardozi and includes elements of kundan, gota, dapka and naqshi.

This ensemble is a part of their ‘Lafz’ collection, which takes inspiration from the city of nawabs – Lucknow.

An ode to craftsmanship, the fashion brand worked closely with over 167 craftsmen to create a collection that includes ‘kurtas’, ‘ijaars’, ‘shararas’, ‘lehengas’ and saris that can be teamed up with jackets, blouses and crop tops. “Dipped in serene hues of ivories and tea dips, this intricate collection boosts of the Mughal art of rendering delicate patterns in pristine white threads on fine mulls and muslin,” says Sanya Dhir, creative director, Diva’ni. “Travelling back in time, this art traces its origin in the darbars of  Nur Jahan,” she adds.
