Jain points fingers at other politicians' relatives now

Health Minister Satyendar Jain's daughter has resigned from the “non-executive” post in the city government’s mohalla clinic programme on Thursday, a day after the BJP alleged “nepotism” in the AAP.

While announcing the resignation of his daughter, he asked politicians in the Central government to make their relatives resign from the offices of profit they are holding.
Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta questioned: “The appointment of Nikunj Aggarwal, son-in-law of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s sister-in-law, as private secretary to the health minister”.

Jain, however, said that his daughter’s appointment was not “wrong”. “She had quit the mohalla clinic project because she was hurt. She was working as a volunteer in the mohalla clinic programme for the past two months,” said Jain.

“She was not getting paid and she was not given any other benefits. She was working, on a non-executive post, as an advisor to the Health Mission which looks after the mohalla clinic project,” he added.

Somya Jain is an artichect by profession. “She did a lot of work designing the first mohalla clinic. She was interested in the project so she was working for it,” the minister said.

But Jain said that there are many politicians whose relatives have been making crores holding offices of profit like Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter.

“Jailey’s daughter has got fees in crores from hockey federation. To say that hockey federation is not under the government don’t dissolve them of the wrong doings,” said Jain.

Clearing the air on the corruption in the construction of the BRT corridor, Jain said that the AAP government has been targeted by the BJP for “no reason”.

“The BJP has been alleging Rs 15 crore scam in the construction of the BRT corridor. How is it possible when the tender was only for Rs 3.51 crore. What kind of mathematics is this?” he asked.

”It is the right of the opposition parties to level allegations against the ruling party, and the BJP is free to do that at least it will keep the party occupied. But don’t involve family into politics,” he added.
