An elderly man was today beaten to death by his daughter-in-law at a village in Bihar's Darbhanga district, a police officer said.
Nathuni Mandal, 50, of Ilahi village was mercilessly beaten up with a stick by his daughter-in-law Aruna Devi after he intervened to stop the quarrel between her and another daughter-in-law Pawan Devi, SDPO Dilnawaz Ahmed said.
A badly injured Mandal died on way to a hospital for treatment, he said.
The daughter in-law has been arrested after her mother in-law Sarobari Devi lodged an FIR charging the former with murdering her husband, Ahmed said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, the police officer said.
