Selco Suryamitra award

Syndicate Bank and solar energy expert K Subramanya have been selected for the Selco Suryamitra Award-2016 in recognition of their contributions to popularise solar energy.

Syndicate Bank has been lending financial support for energy sustainability and solar lighting for individual houses and community for the past 22 years. Arun Srivatsav, Managing Director and CEO of Syndicate Bank, will receive the award on behalf of the bank.

Subramanya has served as CEO in Tata BP– a leading manufacturer of solar modules. He is a key consultant for various solar energy related companies.

The award ceremony will be held on Saturday at 10.30 am at the auditorium of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bengaluru.

The awards will be presented by R Venkataraman, Managing Trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai. The programme will be presided over by Dr Harish Hande, Chairman, Selco.

Earlier these awards were presented to SKDRDP Dharmasthala; Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kundapur; Karnataka Vikasa Grameena Bank (KVGB) Dharwad; Pragathi Krishna Grameena Bank (PKGB) Ballari; Arjun Menda of Menda Foundation Bengaluru and Father Maria Julian, Chitra Don Bosco of Chitrdurga.
