Shreyas Gopal continued his wicket-taking ways as the youngster helped KSCA XI wrest control on the second day of their four-day match against Tripura Cricket Association in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah memorial all-India invitational tournament at the Alur (1) ground here on Saturday.
The leg-spinning all-rounder, who went wicketless on the opening day, rattled Tripura with a six-wicket haul (6/90) to send the visitors, overnight 232/2, tumbling for 337 all out in 117.5 overs.
The hosts reply was led by skipper CM Gautam who was unbeaten on 70 in a total of 200/4 in 55 overs. Abhishek Reddy was the other major contributor with an innings of 65.
KSCA XI still trail Tripura by 137 runs and much will depend upon Gautam as they look to overhaul their rivals’ total.
