Around 4,000 employees work in the secretariat and MS Building. For the convenience of these employees alone, a fleet of around 50 BMTC buses are deployed to Vidhana Soudha everyday.

Vidhana Soudha Employees’ Association has said that some percentage of the ‘D’ Group employees, who rely on public transportation alone, had absented themselves on Monday.

Hundreds of employees have been benefitted from the introduction of the Metro services between Byappanahalli and Nayandahalli. Around 25% of the Secretariat staff have now begun to rely on the Metro services, the Association said.

Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms officials said that around 10% of the secretariat staff were absent on Monday.
