Through the narrow lanes of Delhi

If street food is something that you enjoy, heading over to any of the branches of ‘Barbeque Nation’ is a good choice. Calling the festival ‘Dilli wali khau galli’, the restaurant has planned some interesting dishes for one to try and have a memorable meal.

 Bringing dishes from the gastronomical rich quarters of Delhi, one can sense the aroma of robust flavours as soon as you walk into the restaurant.

As it is a buffet spread, one can pick and choose the dishes as they please. However, the starters of your choice are brought to your table. The grilled items are freshly roasted on the grill which is set up on your table.

Some of the signature dishes for the festival include the ‘Mutton dehlvi adraki seekh’, ‘Nimoda tandoori jhinga’ and ‘Fatehpuri fried chicken’. For vegetarians, you can choose from ‘Nadru kebab’, ‘Tandoor malai khumb’, ‘Zaituni shorba’ and ‘Pudina ananas ke tikke’. However, if you are going to opt for the paneer, do ensure that it is cooked thoroughly so as to not have it raw.

The main course options are plenty. Walk to the counters and enjoy the hot dishes like ‘Masala parathas’, ‘Dahi bhalle’ and other ‘kebab’ preparations. The other highlights are ‘Makhmali paneer’, ‘Dal teen patta tadka’, ‘Kacche paneer ki biryani’ and ‘Chandni Chowk ki subz biryani’.

End your meal with an array of desserts like ‘Jama Masjid ka shahi tukda’, ‘Galiyon ki firni’, ‘Kulfis’, ‘Gulab jamun’ and also the sinful ‘Blueberry cheesecake’.

Adding to the fun factor of the festival is the ambience which has been done up to represent the narrow lanes of Old Delhi. The waiters are also dressed in ‘kurtas’. The restaurant plays Hindi music to keep the guests entertained.

The ‘Dilli wali khau galli’ festival is on till August 7. It is available across all the outlets of ‘Barbeque Nation’ in the city.
