SGBS Trust is conducting a ‘Gokulashtami concert series’ to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna from August 6 onwards at the Unnati Centre, Byapannahalli.

The month-long celebration will involve programmes of Carnatic music, performing arts as well as discourse. The concert series is in its 39th year now and has emerged as an iconic event for connoisseurs of Indian classical music.

With the objective of keeping the rich cultural tradition of India alive and accessible to the common man, the month-long concert series is held free of cost and is open to all.
The programme will begin with a live concert by TM Krishna who was recently announced as a recipient of the Magsaysay Award for his contribution in music.

This will be followed by performances from renowned artists such as Sudha Raghu Nathan, P Unnikrishnan, Priya sisters, Nithyashree and Vishakha Hari.

The concert series is also an opportunity for individuals to come forward to support the activities of the SGBS Trust.

This includes supporting the Trust’s Unnati Programme, which provides vocational training to underprivileged youth, with a guaranteed job at the end of the fifty day programme.
