Last Updated 17 August 2016, 19:06 IST

The High Court on Wednesday stayed the showcause notice issued by the Lokayukta Special Court, Mysuru to Sunil Bose, son of Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, in a bribery case with regard to illegal sand mining.

Hearing adjourned

Justice Anand Byrareddy passed the interim stay and adjourned the hearing to Friday.
The High Court directed the Lokayukta police to submit as to how summons can be issued based on the statement of an accused in the chargesheet. The counsel for Bose contended that the Lokayukta court had issued an order after taking cognisance under Section 190 (1) (b) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The chargesheeted case has reached the trial stage, the counsel stated.

The Lokayukta court had issued notice to Bose and his associate Raju on June 4, 2016 after hearing the application filed by one Basavaraju.
