Anupama Shenoy, who resigned as the deputy superintendent of police, Kudligi, around two months ago, has written to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking the government to register criminal cases against six IPS officers including the Director General and Inspector General of Police, Om Prakash.

Anupama, in her letter dated July 19, has referred to the suicide of two police officers in the state, the dismissal of a constable attached to the District Armed Reserve in Mandya, violence during the Tipu Jayanthi procession in Madikeri, her deputation to other district in violation of election model code of conduct and resignation of IPS officer Suresh Kunhi Mohammed.

“ Social justice has not bee meted out to the police personnel in these cases. There has been violation of human rights as well. DGP Om Prakash has succumbed to political pressure. Criminal cases should be registered against ADGP (Intelligence) Ashit Mohan Prasad, IGP Pronab Mohanty, Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police Santhosh Babu, Mandya Superintendent of Police Sudheer Reddy and SP (Intelligence) Vartika Katiyar,” the letter says.

‘Officials hand in glove’
Shenoy has said that the police and Excise officials were hand and in glove with the liquor mafia. The DGP danced to the tune of chief minister and the district in-charge minister who received a huge sum of money from liquor barons.

The former police officer, in her letter, has claimed that DySP Kallappa Handibag was linked to a kidnap case due to the pressure brought by Chikkamagaluru SP and the local legislator, C T Ravi.
