Last Updated 24 August 2016, 19:35 IST

JD(S) MLA from Chamarajpet in the city, Zameer Ahmed Khan, has asked the JD(S) leadership to come clear on whether it wants to retain the suspended MLAs in the party or not, at the earliest.

Addressing the media along with the rebel JD(S) MLAs H C Balakrishna (Magadi) and N Cheluvarayaswamy (Nagamangala) in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Khan said that he was in a “hurry” to leave the party.

“A few MLAs are in a hurry to leave the party. I am too. It’s high time the party took a decision whether or not to retain us in the party,” he added.

Mayoral elections
On the Bengaluru mayoral poll scheduled for September 19, Khan said that there was no question of the eight suspended MLAs withdrawing their support to the Congress.

“We have seen what happened to the JD(S)-BJP coalition government when the JD(S) failed to keep its word to B S Yeddyurappa. In the same manner, we too have given our word to the Congress, and we would like to keep it.”
