Rescued son of Kirloskar MD in state of shock, being quizzed

The son of the managing director of Kirloskar Electric Company was questioned by the police, a day after he was abandoned by his abductors near Jalahalli.

A senior police officer said, "The police are closing in on the two who kidnapped Eshan Bapat near Yelahanka on Tuesday. He was questioned on Thursday and is still in shock. Initially, he said he was abducted by two people who claimed to be policemen. Later, he said he was bundled into a car by traffic policemen. There are various versions. We have given him time to recover."

"The abductors did not demand any ransom from the victim's family. But this angle is also being probed. It is suspected that there is more to the incident. The CCTV footage from the place where he was kidnapped is being gathered," the officer said.

Eshan was abducted by two persons near Yelahanka while he was returning home from college. He went to a hotel to have snacks and was bundled into the car by two persons, who took him around the city. After they got a hint that they were being trailed by police, they abandoned Eshan near Jalahalli and fled.
