The Wilson Garden police on Friday booked two school bus drivers for drunk-driving. Both the buses had around 40 students each, who were on their way to Lalbagh.

According to the police, during a routine checking at KH Circle, they noticed the driver of the bus belonging to the New Horizon Gurukul (located on Outer Ring Road, Marathahalli) was not wearing uniform.

They asked the driver Venkataswamy to pay fine. However, when the driver started talking, the police found that he was drunk. Meanwhile, another bus from the same school arrived there and its driver Krishna was also found be drunk. Upon a breathalyser test, Venkataswamy was found to have 135 mg of alcohol his blood while it was 140 mg in the case of Krishna - against the permissible limit of 40 mg, the police said.

The school authorities were informed and arrangements were made to take the students back to their school. The management was asked to make sure that the school bus drivers were disciplined and wore uniform while on duty. The police said that action would be initiated against the management for any indiscipline by school bus drivers.
