Hackers on Sunday tampered with University of Mysore (UoM) website and uploaded posters containing anti-social messages on its home page.

The hacking came to light at 7.45 am when an individual browsed the UoM official website (www.uni-mysore.ac.in). Soon after he noticed the tampering, he alerted UoM Registrar C Basavaraju, who later alerted the technical team of UoM. The team removed the messages uploaded by the culprits at 8.30 am.

The culprits had created a new web page and had posted message ‘HACKED BY Prodigy TN Tunisian Resistance Al Fallaga Team. ISLAM IS THE ONLY RELIGION. STOP KILLING BURMA MUSLIMS STOP BUDDHIST TERROR. CLICK HERE.’

Home Minister G Parameshwara, who was in the city said that the Cyber Crime police will investigate the website hacking case.  The police are collecting the details about the organisation believed to have hacked the site.
