Sakrama deadline to be extended in urban areas

Last Updated 29 August 2016, 20:02 IST

The deadline for submitting applications seeking regularisation of unauthorised houses constructed on government land in urban areas will be extended by a month, Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has said.

Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Thimmappa said there was still time for the submission of applications seeking regularisation of unauthorised houses in rural areas.

“But, the deadline is over in urban areas. Since many people have not been able to submit their applications, it has been decided to extend the deadline” he said.

The minister said that the Urban Property Ownership Records Project  had been implemented in Shivamogga and Mysuru on pilot basis. The project is aimed at streamlining the ownership registration of urban properties. “There are complaints of some flaws in the project. The decision on continuing the project will be taken after consulting the chief minister,” Thimmappa added.
