Rashtriya Military emerge champs

Rashtriya Military School were on a rampage as they clinched both the Junior and the Senior titles in the St Germain inter-school hockey tournament on Tuesday.

In the Junior category, the boys from the Military school recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over St Germain to clinch the title.

Tarang was the top performer for RMS with two goals (3rd , 16th minutes) while Harinder struck the other goal in the 39th minute.

In the Senior category, RMS saw off a stiff challenge from St Joseph’s Indian High School to emerge victorious with a 4-2 scoreline.

Though Bhavin Kushalappa gave St Joseph’s the lead in the ninth minute, it was not enough as goals from Vageesh (13th min), Suraj Dixit (15th min), Shanu Bhadouria (23rd min) and Ravinder Goyat (34th min) meant that there was no stopping the boys from the military school.

Results: Seniors: Final: Rashtriya Military School: 4 (Vageesh 13th, Suraj Dixit 15th, Shanu Bhadouria 23rd, Ravinder Goyat 34th) bt St Joseph’s Indian HS: 2 (Bhavin Kushalappa 9th, Nitash Brenden 36th).

For third place: St Germain HS: 1 (Shridharan C 33rd) bt St Joseph’s Briand Square: 1 (Sundar 35th) via tie-breaker 4-3.

Juniors: Final: Rashtriya Military School: 3 (Tarang 3rd, 16th, Harinder 39th) bt St Germain HS: 0

For third place: St Joseph’s Indian HS: 1 (Nitash Jacob 31st) bt Bishop Cotton HS: 0.
