Foods to keep your skin young

Your food habits have everything to do with your skin health. Hence, it is essential to maintain a nutritious diet to get glowing, younger-looking  skin. Foods rich in minerals like zinc and iron, essential amino acids, omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins will help you achieve clear, healthy skin. Here is a list of foods you must include in your regimen:

n Fish: Rich in omega 3 fatty acids, it helps keep the skin young. 

n Avocado: Rich in vitamin E, it helps keep the skin moisturised. It is also rich in antioxidants that prevent damage caused by free radicals.

n Sweet potato: The tubers are loaded with beta carotene, which gets converted into vitamin A. Including these in your diet will help increase the cell turnover and keep the skin fresh and renewed.

n Pomegranate: This vitamin C-rich fruit improves collagen production and therefore, prevents wrinkles.

n Blueberry: Rich in antioxidants, it prevents damage caused by free radicals. It also prevents wrinkle formation.

n Almond: Rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, almonds help prevent damage caused by free radicals.

n Chia seeds: Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, these help erase age spots, even out wrinkles, and also keep the skin hydrated and supple.

n Tomato: Rich in the antioxidant, lycopene, they help prevent damage due to free radicals and protect the skin from the harmful radiations of the sun.

n Apple: They contain quercetin, an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that helps in protecting your skin from sun’s harmful UV rays.
