The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday arrested a health officer of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike for graft. The accused, S Kumar Velu, was trapped while receiving the bribe amount.
The complainant had filed an application with the BBMP for a licence to start a business. Since the report of a health officer was mandatory for the licence, the complainant had approached Kumar, who is senior health officer in ward number 119.
Trap
The accused government servant demanded a bribe of Rs 6,000 for the official work. The ACB officials registered a complaint and laid a trap. The accused health officer Kumar Velu was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe amount.
