Online petition for reversing NPS disaffiliation

Last Updated 08 September 2016, 20:34 IST

An online petition has been started to reverse CBSE’s move to withdraw affiliation to six schools of the National Public School group.

The petition on change.org was initiated by a parent, who is also an alumnus of the institution. She states that all parents stand by the NPS group of institutions and believe that there has been no misconduct by the school.

Addressed to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the petition terms CBSE’s move “flimsy, weak and influenced” and seeks an appropriate and unbiased enquiry into the matter. It has already garnered over 3,300 signatures and is being circulated on WhatsApp to raise support.

In response to a letter by the Commissioner for Public Instruction, CBSE disaffiliated six schools in Bengaluru and Mysuru for forging minority status documents to claim exemption from providing seats under the RTE Act.
