Bid to picket farmhouse of Karunanidhi's daughter

 Samata Sainik Dal (SSD) workers on Tuesday tried to picket the farmhouse of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi’s daughter S Selvi at Vaderahalli village in Kanakapura taluk. However, the attempt was foiled as the police had provided tight security at the farmhouse.

About 50 SSD workers gathered near the farmhouse around noon. They raised slogans against Tamil Nadu government over the Cauvery water issue. They wanted the district administration to take the farmhouse into its custody.

The protesters also urged the state government to close down Tamil Nadu-based industries in the state and action against those who attacked Kannadigas in Tamil Nadu. They urged the state government to ensure protection of Kannadigas in Tamil Nadu. The police resorted to mild lathicharge disperse the protesters they tried to picket the farmhouse.
Selvi had purchased about 10 acres of land at Vaderahalli. She has constructed the farmhouse about 15 years ago. Karunanidhi and Selvi often visit the farmhouse.
