Speaking to the mediapersons on the occasion of World Women's Day here on Monday,  the writer said “a woman should always be aware of her inner strength and care for her self identity without sacrificing herself for hollow temptations. Reservation for women is absolutely a non debatable issue. In fact it is her right to have 50 per cent reservation as she is not inferior to men in any sense. At least 33 per cent reservation is reasonable for time being. We should take up the fight demanding more recognition in future,” she added.

Speaking after inaugurating Udupi District Women Writers’ Association, Vaidehi said “the feminine virtue hidden within men should get exposed resulting in developing compassionate attitudes towards women. The feminine virtue makes men realise that a woman is not an object of fantasy rather she is a human being. Woman is not inferior to men.

She should not live her life under fear. She should consider herself capable and brave enough to face any adverse situations,” she said. Unity among women is the need of the hour to fight against any injustice, she said.
