Two die, 3 injured in accident at Sangam

Two persons were killed on the spot and three others sustained injuries after an autorickshaw overturned near Sangam in Kanakapura taluk.

The victims have been identified as Sadique Pasha, 12, and Naseema, 18.
The injured Haseena, 50, and her daughter Fouzia, 20 and Tausif, the autorickshaw driver, were rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru.

Except Tausif, all the four are residents of Kothipura in Ramanagaram and members of the same family, the police said.

Haseena hired Tausif’s autorickshaw to go to Sangam. She wanted to stay with her family members and return on Thursday morning, the police said.

Tausif lost balance over the autorickshaw while negotiating a steep curve around
7 pm. All the five were thrown out of the autorickshaw.

The two were killed due to massive injuries, the police said.

Further investigation is on, the police stated.
