The fifth edition of TEDx at M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), will be held on Saturday with an ensemble of speakers who are sure to inspire and educate the audience. DH is the media partner for the event.

The theme, this time, is ‘Sonder’. Explaining the idea behind the theme, K S Sharanaya Iyer, organiser and curator of the event said: “The term sonder is a complex thought. The idea that everybody has their own stories and complexities is fascinating. When we came across the theme, it really made us ponder on this line of thought and we indeed felt it would be very appropriate for a TEDx event,” she said.

The speakers at the event have varied interests and will talk on a wide range of subjects. For example, Harish Sivaramakrishnan, vice president of Design at Snapdeal and the front man of the popular Carnatic rock band, Agam, will talk about multitasking. Neil Menon, an experimental physicist as well as a popular writer on Quora will share his thoughts on alternative social media and how it helps stimulate and open minds. Sinu Joseph, managing trustee of Mythri Speaks and an educator and a writer, will talk on the topic of menstruation.

A number of  performances by various acts like Aayana Dance Company, a Bengaluru-based dance troupe, and Hamsadhwani, a fusion band that plays Carnatic and western rock are lined up.
