The police forcibly moved the body to the town in the early hours of Wednesday despite protests from Telangana activists.

On Tuesday night, the body of Sai Kumar, a second-year B Tech student, was taken out in procession to the Telangana Martyrs monument at Gun Park in front of the Legislative Assembly, a desire expressed in the suicide note of Sai Kumar. However, the procession was allowed by the police only on the intervention of the State Human Rights Commission.

Sai who hanged himself on Tuesday morning in his room in OU hostel in a suicide note said he hoped his death at least would pave the way for Telangana. Students clashed with police in front of the Gandhi Hospital where Sai was rushed to, when they were prevented from taking out the body in a procession to the university. However, the procession was allowed after SHRC intervened.

Son of a marginal farmer, Sai was a topper in his class and would teach maths to school students in the evenings to supplement his scholarship. His father, Lingaiah appealed to students not to take their lives.
