Mayor orders fencing of 18 lakes in Dasarahalli

Mayor G Padmavathi on Thursday directed the BBMP officials to ensure that all the 18 lakes in Dasarahalli zone are well-protected and developed.

At a review meeting in Dasarahalli zonal office, Padmavathi said the lake encroachment is rampant across the city and directed officials to fence lakes in a fortnight. The mayor enquired with the Chief Engineer of BBMP (storm water drain division) about the extent of encroachment of storm water drain in the zone and progress made in removing them.

Some corporators apprised Padmavathi about the delay in issuing Hakku Patra (title deed to a plot of land) causing trouble to the people who have applied for it last year. Padmavathi also reviewed the progress made in property tax collection.
