JD(S) minister, patriarch used to hold on to files: CM

The CM’s remarks came in the wake of YSV Datta’s (JD-S) allegation that he (Yeddyurappa) had no control over his ministers. Yeddyurappa said ministers in his Cabinet had individual freedom, unlike in the erstwhile JD(S)-BJP combine.

He said, ‘the JD(S) minister’ took files of other departments to his home office. Ministers of the BJP and officers had to wait for many days to get their files cleared.

The CM did not take the names of the minister and the elder person.

However, Datta, while reacting to the CM’s remarks, took the name of H D Revanna, who was minister for Energy and PWD in the JD(S)-BJP rule.

Datta said if the extra constitutional persons had access to Government’s files and played major role in taking decisions, the matter is fit to be investigated into either by the CBI or Karnataka Lokayukta.
