Power generation has been suspended in one of the three units of Ballari Thermal Power Plants (BTPS) at Kudathini due to shortage of water. Two units of the plant produce 500 MW power each. Now, only two units generating 500 and 800 MW of power are functioning.
A BTPS source said the power generation of the third unit has been fluctuating due to the water problem since commercial power production was started. It has been decided to test the unit by examining its power generation capacity for a month, the sources added.
