Popular and highly acclaimed Kannada play ‘Male Manthrika,’ adapted from late N Richard Nash’s famous play ‘The Rainmaker,’ is back to enthrall theatre afficionados.

Ranga Nirantara, a city-based theatre group, will present the 25th performance of the play on Wednesday.

The play, originally penned by Nash, a writer of Broadway shows, was adapted to Kannada by playwright K Y Narayanaswamy and directed by B G Ramakrishna. It revolves around the theme of self-belief and depicts the irony of a confused man and his ambiguous authority as a father.

Around 25 members of the theatre group will perform the play at Kalagrama in Mallathahalli in memory of Ranga Nirantara founder late C G Krishnaswamy, whose 10th death anniversary was observed this month. The set for the play has been designed by renowned designer Shashidhar Adapa.

‘Male Manthrika’ will be performed at Kalagrama on January 11 between 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. For details, call 9886543697.
