Three-day old abandoned infant saved from stray

A woman rescued a new born baby from stray dogs on Tuesday night. The baby was found abandoned in an open site located in ward number 7, at K N Ramaiah Layout behind Municipal College around 7 pm. Jyothi, who stays near the open site, heard the wails of  an infant and rushed out to see a stray dog eating it away.

Jyothi immediately saved the infant from the dog and rushed to the district hospital in an auto rickshaw. The police was also informed about the incident.

The doctors at the hospital offered emergency medication and shifted the infant to the intensive care unit. Pediatrician Dr Prakash said, “The baby was born a couple of days ago. There are deep injuries on the head and the chest of the baby. The chances of the infant’s survival was low. We will make arrangements to shift the baby to Bengaluru for additional treatment,” he added.

A case has been lodged at the city police station in this regard.
