KSRP constable killed in road accident

A 35-year-old constable attached to Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) was killed in a road accident, while two other men were injured on Thursday. The accident occurred near 80 Feet Road in Koramangala.

The deceased, Chandan, was residing in KSRP quarters in Koramangala. The injured are Buddha and Siraj, both residents of Jakkasandra and hotel workers.

Around 12.45 am, while Chandan, in his effort to avoid hitting another two-wheeler, lost control over his bike which skidded off the road, and fell down. Passersby rushed to his aid and helped him sit on the edge of the footpath. Another bike coming from Maharaja Junction in Koramangala ran into Chandan, causing severe head injuries, said the police.

Buddha and Siraj were on their way home on a bike. Buddha, who was speeding on the bike, failed to notice Chandan. The public alerted the Adugodi traffic police who shifted the trio to a private hospital. Chandan was declared brought dead, while Buddha and Siraj are said to be out of danger. It is being investigated if Buddha and Chandan were riding under the influence of alcohol, added the police.
