Last Updated 20 March 2010, 17:13 IST

In his letter to all medical and dental educational institutions and other related offices, the minister said: “It has come to my notice that some persons, who are proclaiming themselves to be close to me, are approaching various medical and dental colleges promising them approval/recognition of their colleges for both under graduation and post graduation for the year 2010-11.

“I would like to inform you that I have not authorised any individual or organisation to approach any medical/dental college on my behalf or on behalf of my office for such permissions,” Azad said in the letter.

“If any college authority entertains such middlemen or brokers, it will be viewed seriously and I would not hesitate to take stern action.
“This includes de-recognition of the college as well as debarring it from admitting new students for a year or two,” Azad said in his letter.

Claiming that the health  ministry is maintaining absolute transparency in the administration, the minister requested the public to lodge a complaint through following phone numbers if any body approached them promising favour from the ministry. Telephone number (office) : 011-23061647, 23061661, Fax : 011-23062358, Residence : 011-23792944, 23792052, Email : azadghulamnabi@yahoo.in
