Mulayam vows to fight Akhilesh

The infighting within the Samajwadi Party (SP) took a new turn with party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav branding his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav anti-Muslim.

The SP patriarch said he would “fight” Akhilesh if he did not “mend his ways”.

 Addressing party workers here on Monday, Mulayam expressed his helplessness in resolving the feud within the family saying that Akhilesh did not listen to him.

“My son does not listen to me...he has turned against me under Ramgopal’s influence...I had not imagined that my son will join hands with my opponents,” he said.

Mulayam also said that he had on several occasions asked Akhilesh to meet him but he did not turn up.
