Party’s Uttar Pradesh chief Raj Babbar, ex-cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood are also among the campaigners for the Assembly polls that begins on February 4.

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, also a top campaigner in the state, said on Thursday that he intends to give Parkash Singh Badal a massive thrashing at his home constituency of Lambi, where Congress state unit president Capt Amarinder Singh would challenge the chief minister.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot also figure in the list of Congress leaders who will campaign for the Punjab elections.

They will be joined on the trail by AICC general secretary and MP Ambika Soni, former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, former Union ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Digvijay Singh, Mukul Wasnik, Sachin Pilot and Shobha Oza.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick-start the campaign for the SAD-BJP alliance at a rally in Jalandhar on January 27 and will follow it up with another rally in Ludhiana two days later.
