Brigade plans counter strategy against BJP

Office-bearers of the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade said they will adopt a counter strategy against the BJP if the party continues to suspend its members because of their association with the Brigade.

Addressing a press conference, Brigade president K Virupakshappa and other office-bearers said it is unfortunate that the BJP is issuing notices or suspending its members and that the Brigade cannot remain a mute witness anymore.

There are nearly two dozen BJP leaders who have been associated with the Brigade.
The BJP has suspended former Bengaluru mayor D Venkatesh Murthy, party OBC morcha vice president Avvanna Myakeri and issued show cause notices to former minister Sodagu Shivanna and party functionary M B Nandeesh for indulging in anti-party activities by associating themselves with the Brigade.

Virupakshappa said the Brigade has sought an appointment with Yeddyurappa seeking to know why he was against the Brigade. Yeddyurappa has also been invited to the Kudalasangama convention of the Brigade on January 26, the former MP said.
