It was an extraordinary evening when legendary singers Ustad Rashid Khan and Hariharan performed on the same platform at Banyan Tree’s ‘Splendor of Masters’ programme in the city recently.

The concert held at  Chowdiah Memorial Hall was yet another event organised by the team to bring exclusive combinations of some of the greatest artistes in the country to music lovers.

The ensemble was brilliant in content and unparalleled in artistic synergy.
Ustad Rashid Khan started the evening with his musical renditions and enthralled the audience with his unparalleled voice. The  audience had people from all age groups.
Hariharan, one of the pioneers of Indian music, took over the stage soon after Ustad’s performance.

Before he started,  he shared a nostalgic story about how he had performed on the same stage 30 years back. He said that it hasn’t changed much but yet in some way, it had changed a lot.

He brought his own charm to the stage with some of the popular ghazals including  ‘Nazar Shahnaz Ka Kya Kaam’, ‘Patta Patta Boota Boota’, ‘Kaash Aisa Koi Manzar Hota’ and a few more.

He also kept the audience completely engrossed by sharing one-liners between his performances.

Seema, along with her son Yash, were seen having a good time at the event.
Sharing her experience, Seema said, “It was a splendid night as it had great music to offer. My son also had a good time as it was his first time at an event like this.”

Latha Sood, another member of the audience, also shared the same thought.
“I am a huge fan of both Ustad Rashid Khan and Hariharan. To hear them live was a wonderful experience.”

The evening ended with the dynamic duo coming together on stage with a few musical numbers.

After the concert, Rashmi who was in the audience, said, “It was just the perfect way to end the evening. They were amazing individually but when they performed together, it was definitely magic on stage.”

Overall, the evening was an infusion of emotions with a melodic collaboration that left listeners deeply moved.
