Their best foot forward
The annual fashion feature of Baldwin Women’s Methodist College, under the department of BSc Fashion and Apparel Design, titled ‘Rang de’17’ was staged recently. It had a fashionable theme ‘Exquisite Renditions’.

With the belief ‘dressing is an art’, the budding fashion designers from the college showcased their collection. Each of them was distinct and innovative.

They believed in the motto ‘style is a way to say who you are without having to speak’.

In this world where fashion is becoming functional, it is difficult bridging the gap between the consumer and the designer. That is when the mentor’s achievements come into picture and style the minds of their students to incorporate the latest trends with ease, in free-spirited and ready-to-go outfits. This gives the designers a new face as they stay inspired to design something for daily wear. Every collection emerged out of their inspiration.

The splendid collections by the young designers were judged by Devaraj, an academician at Lisaa Institute of Design, Ishrath Sadiaqe, fashion designer of Ishrath Sadiaqe Jewellery and Padmaja, manager of Arvind Lifestyle.

The special awards were given to G Deekshitha for the ‘Best Conceptualised Collection’ while Divyashree P and Pavithra S shared the ‘Most Practical Collection’ award.
Bhavini A Bhojani received the prize for the ‘Most Creative Collection’, Aishwarya G was given the ‘Jury Special Award’ and Benwangliu was acknowledged for the ‘Best Accessorised Collection’ and ‘Best Design Collection’.
